RE-MODELLING OF AN EXISTING EDWARDIAN BUILDING IN LONDON
Project Name: 77 Kingsway
Location: Kingsway, London
Sector: Urban Design
Client: Frogmore Estates
Services: Architecture and planning
Area: 70,000 sq ft
At 77, Kingsway, in London we worked with Frogmore Estates on a full refurbishment and structural remodelling of an existing Edwardian building.
By skilful use of suspended ceilings and raised floors, we created new open plan floor spaces to match current commercial standards, including the provision of comfort cooling.
The external envelope was rejuvenated, to recreate the previous Edwardian elegance within the confines of the Bloomsbury Conservation Area. The interiors were remodelled to provide cutting edge spaces suitable for top rank commercial tenants.
At street level, a series of attractive new retail and A3 units have been created to further enhance the streetscape and add a vitality to the area.
