The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has approved plans for a mix of 176 affordable homes and social housing located on the Bath Road, Hounslow.
The trailblazing scheme, designed by Colwyn Foulkes & Partners for A2 Dominion, was previously granted planning consent by the London Borough of Hounslow in December 2017.
The site, which was previously home to a Morrisons supermarket that had been derelict for a couple years, will now be demolished as part of the proposals. There will also be space for an 8,000sq ft food store.
Senior Partner Nick Colwyn-Foulkes said;
“The Mayor has made it clear that tackling London’s housing crisis is his number one priority. New and revolutionising developments, such as this one on Bath Road, will help provide plenty of much-needed affordable homes. With 50% social housing and 50% intermediate tenures with the option to buy and rent.”
A report by the planners to the London Borough of Hounslow said:
“The proposed buildings are considered to be sensitively designed and located to ensure they do not detract from the character of the area.”
